Dessert Recipes ...

TRADITIONAL BAKED BROWN PUDDING

1 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
1 cup of milk
1 egg
1/2 cup of sugar
1 dessert spoon of apricot jam
1 1/2 dessert spoons of vinegar
1 1/2 cups of cake flour
1 teaspoon of baking powder

Honeybush Syrup


Mix and boil the following ingredients for a couple of minutes:
1 cup of sugar
1/4 cup of butter or margarine
1/2 cup of milk
1 cup of strongly brewed Intaba™ Honeybush tea
Boil mixture, add 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence, bring to boiling point.

1. Dissolve bicarbonate of soda in milk, stir until dissolved.
2. Beat egg and sugar together well.
3. Add apricot jam and vinegar
4. Sift dry ingredients.
5. Alternately, add milk and dry ingredients to the egg mixture
6. Pour syrup into oven proof dish and add mixture. Bake in moderate oven for 45 minutes until brown.

Serve warm with custard or vanilla ice cream. Delicious!
